Eve of Chinese New Year 2010
This year, Chinese New Year falls on the 14th February and it coincide with Valentine’s Day on the same day. These 2 festivals have very different origins, there are similarity of how they are celebrated. During Chinese New Year love ones give “Ang Pau” red packets with money to their unmarried children, relatives and friends. On Valentine’s Day love ones give roses or gifts to their beloved. They all represent tokens of love.
On every New Year’s eve, I always celebrate the reunion dinner with my mum, sister,close neighbour and family. It is a gathering to share the happiness together and to give thanks to God for the provision.
