Discipleship Training Part 3 2010

Discipleship Training Part 3

Discipleship Training Part 3

Training Leader: Rev. Lau

 Why is discipleship training necessary?

Discipleship training is rooted in the Words of Jesus Christ to His disciples in Matthew 28: 18-20.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

It is Jesus Christ, who holds all authority over the universe, who commanded us to make disciples of every nation.  And disciples are to be made from every nation.  Therefore, the church must carry out discipleship training.  The contents of discipleship training are the teaching of Jesus Christ.  The key to discipleship training is obedience.   The leader is responsible not only for teaching, but for obedience as well.

Disciple training is the most biblical and effective way to awaken the laity to their identity and calling.  It is no doubt that before long a new page will open where all churches will be transformed into disciples of Christ.   As written in Matthew 19:26, it is impossible with man but possible with God.  Then Jesus Christ, the Lord of all, will receive all the glory and praise.  Amen

Part 3, the theme is “Becoming little Jesus” and it has 12 lessons such as Life of obedience, responsibility to serve ,…. ….. Spiritual Warfare and New Commandment: Love One Another.

Every Thursday Home Cell Meeting

It is a blessing to be in the Reverend’s cell group where I receive the guidance and teaching, spiritually nurturing me to maturity.  The group grows from a small group of 4 members to 12 members.  Perhaps it is time to multiply and fulfill the goal of  the Cell Agenda :-

  • Cells must minister – to love one another-inside (Edification)
  • Cells must multiply – to love others-outside (Evangelism)

The Cell Meeting Agenda is based on 5W’s – Welcome (icebreaker), Worship (praise & worship), Word (Word of God), Warmth (Testimony) and Works (vision).  The duration of the cell meeting is about one and half hour from 8:00pm to 9:30pm every Thursday throughout the years.  The location of meeting is fixed.
